Psychosocial History
Psychosocial was released on June 26, 2008 as the second single and fourth track from their fourth studio album, All Hope Is Gone. The track has also been featured in the soundtrack of the movie unisher: War Zone from 2008. On top of that the song has also been nominated for ‘Best Metal Performance’ for the 51st Grammy Awards, although Metallica beat them with their track My Apocalypse.

For example is “psychosocial” refering to psychological development and interaction within our society? That our hope and dreams are being slowly eradicated. “And the reign will kill us all, throw ourselves against the wall” is talking about the bad choices we had made electing our governments. “The secret death gone mad?” We’ve tried to speak out before and say something but we were silenced or told to shut up and sit down.

Accroding to their website the lyrics is about the band themselves, and the fact that they can pull it off when they are focused. So in other words the song is simply about the state of mind involved with being a member of the band.
